Taking Action To Achieve Your Goal

Dear Karate West Member,

Last month in our Goal Setting series, we focused on the importance of visualizing the goals you wish to achieve. You wrote down your goal in detail. This month, we will focus on taking action! Successful people (those who achieve their goals) always decide what steps they will need to take to accomplish their goal. They are systematic. They write out these steps and put them into action every single day. From the moment you do this, you will be another step closer to achieving your goal.

Never confuse motion with action. Benjamin FranklinIt is important to understand that your actions will take you closer to or move you farther away from your goal. List those things (positive) that you will do that will help you accomplish your goal. Also list the things (negative) that you do that will not attribute to your success. Make a commitment to yourself this month to focus on your Action List. Commit to do the things you list as "positive" as often as possible, limiting all negative actions.

Successful people often find new ways to accomplish their goals. They are persistent (we cover this next month) in their search and practice of positive actions that will help them achieve what they want. Give this last section some thought. Then write down one new action that you haven't tried in the past, but you will try this month to bring you closer to your goal:

Sincerely,
